A new year begins.
Now is a good time to say thank you to the more than 100 photographers with whom I’ve worked this past year.
Leaving the presumed security of a job a year ago was scary, frankly. But it has turned out to be the right decision. During this year, I’ve had the pleasure of working with so many people who make pictures with passion, editing bodies of work that are inspiring and giving advice, feedback and direction to photographers who continually strive to make pictures today that are better than those they made yesterday.
This year also marks a new decade. These past 10 years have been so full of experiences – as were the previous few decades. I never would have thought it possible to leave a small town Nebraska upbringing and do what I have done. It has been a privilege to have worked with so many talented people through the years, in settings large and small.
It is at times like these that reminiscing brings a pleasant glow, a good feeling. And high hopes for the year ahead. Let the journey continue with equal voracity.
