Every now and then I do get out of the building to make pictures, which is generally pure joy. Yesterday was no exception on the joy front. The assignment was to photograph a wonderful chef at his cabin in Washington. He and his wife greeted me warmly and we spent a few hours touring the area, making pictures of him in natural settings and their hand-built cabin.
I always tell photographers to look for the gift pictures, the ones that aren't part of the piece of paper that sends you on assignment. And so I did, while on this assignment.
